Mabel shrugs. “Eh,” she says.

“Sorry, man, I think we’re gonna sit this one out,” says Dipper. “I’d love to help, but it’s like…Time Pirates…and carrying stuff.”

“Yeah, but don’t get discouraged! You’re a shining star!” says Mabel. She peels a glimmering star from her sticker book and affixes it to Blendin’s chest. “Never give up on your dreams,” she whispers in his ear.

“Oh, all right,” says Blendin, frowning. “Just remember, you won’t be getting any of this sweet, sweet time treasure!”

The twins shrug and walk away.

“You know, Dipper, I feel like we made a great choice,” says Mabel.

“Yeah, Mabel, I agree!” says Dipper. “Now let’s forget all about that treasure.”

They go back to the Mystery Shack and turn on the TV. There’s a marathon of documentaries about treasure hunts running on the Used to Be About History Channel. Frowning, Mabel changes the channel and sees a documentary called Wrong Choices.

“There are people who make terrible choices,” says the host, “and the long-lasting psychological effects of regret follow these people forever!”

“Ummm…Mabel, do you think the universe is trying to tell us something?” asks Dipper.

Mabel scratches her chin. “Like that maybe we missed the adventure of a lifetime?”

“Don’t worry, Mabel, this is Gravity Falls! I’m sure another adventure will come our way today,” says Dipper.

The twins sit in silence for an hour.

A fly lands on Dipper’s hand.

“Oooh, a fly! Is it a paranormal fly?” asks Mabel.

“No, regular fly,” says Dipper.

Mabel coughs.

Nice choice, reader! You’ve already brought our adventure to…

THE END.
