“Let’s do like Chamillacles and hide in plain sight!” says Dipper, picking up a guard’s uniform. There’s a single chrono-blaster on the floor. Dipper sees Davy Time-Jones eye the weapon. Dipper scoops it up. “I’ll hold on to this,” he tells Davy. “I’m really starting to wonder if we can trust these guys,” he mutters to Mabel.
They all quickly throw on guard uniforms over their inmate outfits and inspect their reflections in the shiny metal wall. They all look convincingly like time guards.
“I wish this was more slimming,” says Blendin.
“A uniform just makes you feel so powerful!” says Mabel, slapping a nightstick into her palm.
Chamillacles mumbles something in Gleep-Glorp and points his scaly finger at the Guard Transport Station, a room filled with shiny tubes made for teleporting the guards back to Earth.
Suddenly, a battalion of backup guards rounds a corner and spots them!
For a long moment, the guards just stare at them.
“They’re back that way! HUSTLE!” yells Mabel, pointing over her shoulder. “And give each other supportive back massages while you march!”
The guards straighten up and follow her orders.
“Yes, ma’am!” they shout, massage-marching their way down the hall.
“I’m really turning this place around!” says Mabel.
They approach the glass door to the Guard Transport Station.
Davy Time-Jones runs up to the door and mashes the security keypad to gain access. It doesn’t work. He keeps entering the wrong code, and a red light flashes and a robotic voice says, “TOO MANY FAILED ENTRIES.” A trapdoor opens in the floor.
Chamillacles falls in, shouting profanities in Gleep-Glorp until he’s no longer in earshot.
The large chasm separates the gang from Davy Time-Jones. There’s an electrical cord suspended from the ceiling that the twins and Blendin could use to swing across, but it’s on Davy Time-Jones’s side.
“Throw us the cord!” Dipper screams to him.
“We don’t like holes or falling!” adds Mabel.
“No, throw me the blaster!” yells Davy Time-Jones. “I need to blast open this door!”
“Well, then help us swing across first!” yells Dipper.
“There’s no time! Just throw me the blaster!”
“How do I know you won’t double-cross us?”
“You don’t!” yells Davy Time-Jones. “Now throw me the blaster!”
“More guards are coming!” yells Blendin. “We’re running out of time!”
Dipper looks down at the weapon in his hands and then across the way at Davy Time-Jones.
What should he do? Can he trust Davy to throw him the cord? Or should Dipper just try to jump the chasm without it?
