“This is a no-brainer!” Mabel says, smiling.
“I guess I have always wanted an infinite pile of treasure,” says Dipper.
“Plus it would be fun paying Grunkle Stan to do embarrassing things!” says Mabel. “But how do we get it?”
“A Time Pirate has hidden the treasure beneath a hyper-X on a time island in a time ocean that you can only reach by entering a specific time portal,” says Blendin.
“Is, like, someone paying you every time you say the word time?” asks Mabel.
“Pay time attention!” Blendin yells. “The only way to enter that portal is to find a key. And yes, it’s a Time Key, Miss Know-It-All!” Blendin shoots Mabel a glare, then unfurls an old map with an illustration of a key.

Dipper’s and Mabel’s eyes widen.
“Time Keys are extremely rare, but if we find just one, that treasure is as good as ours! I’ve tracked down its general location. It’s either in medieval England…or lost somewhere in the Old West…or it’s supposed to be here.” Blendin holds out the map to show Dipper.
Dipper looks at it and laughs. “Well, there’s your problem, Blendo!” he says. “You’ve got the right place but the wrong time.” Dipper flips the map upside down and shows Blendin where it says 20705. “The key may be in the future!”
Blendin groans. “Ugh, my mom was right. I really am bad at everything I try.” He takes out his time tape.
“Ooooh,” says Mabel. “Three adventures to choose from? Each more exciting than the last? My goodness!”
“Don’t make this decision lightly,” says Blendin. “This isn’t just fun and games. Each of those places has some serious dangers. Medieval England is probably going to give us the plague. In the future, we’ll be hunted outlaws, and the part of the West we’d have to go to was ruled by the Calamity Brothers, history’s most dangerous bandits!”
“Psssh, all I’m hearing is ‘dragons, space races, and mining adventures’!” says Mabel.
“We have to pick one,” says Dipper. “But which one?”
